S.A.F.E.R. K9 VISITS SOUTHVIEW
On Friday March 19 2010, K9 handlers Mario & Allie visited the kindergarten class of Doug Sayles at Southview Elementary in Waconia. The students were very exited to see K9 Weaver and K9 Angel. They were all impressed how big Angel was getting, and loved spending some quality time with Weaver. The students asked some very good questions, and were happy to see us. Thank you to Southview for all your continued support.
Visit to St.Bernards School
Today, February 1 2010, Handler Mario and K9 Weaver visited St Bernards School in Cologne for career day. Mario explained to the kids what S.A.F.E.R. does, and how important our K9 Unit is to the program.
Waconia High School Training
Last night, the K9 crew went to Waconia High School for training. It was supposed to be a quiet night at the school, well I guess a basketball game, floor removal and parent group meetings is a “quiet night” I would hate to see a busy night! K9′s Crosby, Weaver and Angel, took distractions into consideration, but in the end did a GREAT job. K9 Weaver wasn’t to pleased with the floor removal solution they were using, but still found his missing person in a timely fashion. K9 Crosby however, got right to work….and found his missing person very quickly. K9 Angel also did well last night, she found her missing person in a timely fashion with trails getting longer.

Well another balmy day in Minnesota….temps reaching a high of -10F….wooo…hoooo!
Today Handler Allie took Angel to school with here while Handler Mario and Weaver were going to sign up a new S.A.F.E.R. member.
Training at Southview
Last night we were at Southview for our weekly training. We are starting to make things a bit more difficult for the dogs, but Crosby and Weaver were Rock Stars and found S.A.F.E.R.’s Cindy Thomson every time. In picture you see S.A.F.E.R.’s K-9 handlers Allie and Pete Thomson working the hallways.

Hello all, sorry for no updates the last little while. Angel, Weaver and Crosby, whom are all part of S.A.F.E.R.’s K9 unit are attending their second class this evening for their DELTA certification. The class is being offered by Paws Inn Resort in New Germany. This is a class to get our dogs certified as therapy dogs. Weaver and Crosby did really good last week….Angel…..well…..let’s just say she has a lot of energy….need I say more!
Angel starts therapy training
On January 11th 2010, Angel and handler Mario will be starting classes in New Germany at Paws Inn Resort & Training. Angel is going for her DELTA certification, and there are certain things Angel will have to accomplish before receiving this. She and Mario will attending classes with Alley and K9 ”Weiver”, whom are also part of S.A.F.E.R.’s K9 Unit. Wish her luck!

Winter Safety 2009
On Tuesday December 15th, S.A.F.E.R.’s Mario and Ben will be teaching safety tips to Southview Elementary in Waconia. Special guest Angel will also be doing a demontration for the kids.
